From the Yangtze River to Victoria Harbour, we create lasting memories through key events that strengthen our bond. Each interaction deepens our friendship and paves the way for new opportunities. This time, new chapters of cooperation will unfold as Mayor Chen Zhichang of Nanjing leads a delegation to Hong Kong for a series of high-level visits and exchanges on February 16-17.

At the Promotion of Greater Openness in the Services Sector & Nanjing-Hong Kong Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Conference, key players from Hong Kong’s high-end commerce, financial services, healthcare, legal services, and value-added telecommunications sectors gathered to explore collaboration opportunities. A major highlight of the event was the signing of a significant agreement between Yuhu Group (Hong Kong) Investment Holding Co., Ltd. and the Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone. With a total investment of 5 billion RMB, this project will establish a first-tier regional hub in East China.
Mayor Chen emphasized the deep historical, cultural, and emotional ties between Nanjing and Hong Kong. He expressed hope that this visit would further strengthen the integration and collaboration between the two cities, building on the spirit of “Nanjing and Hong Kong as one family” and driving a new wave of high-quality development.
The visit also focused on innovation and technology collaboration. Mayor Chen visited The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), engaging in in-depth discussions on sharing technological and talent resources. Both sides agreed to jointly create an innovation hub, accelerate the transformation of scientific achievements, and foster high-growth tech enterprises.
Beyond technology, Nanjing and Hong Kong explored opportunities in culture, sports, and finance. Mayor Chen met with senior executives from China Tourism Group, Sun Hung Kai Properties, and Morgan Stanley Securities to discuss cooperation in the duty-free business, real estate projects, and financial services. Additionally, he visited the Hong Kong Jockey Club, reaching a consensus with CEO Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges on promoting brand events and strengthening collaboration in the sports industry.
Nanjing is committed to deepening its partnership with Hong Kong across multiple sectors, creating a win-win future for both cities. Let’s embrace this exciting journey of collaboration and innovation together!
