The 2025 World Snooker Tour International Championship officially opened on November 2 at Nanjing’s South New Town Public Sport Center, signaling another year of top-level snooker competition in China.

The championship is one of snooker’s top-tier tournaments and the first to be held outside the UK, also ranking among China’s highest-level snooker events. This year’s edition, the 11th, runs from November 2–9. Defending champion Ding Junhui leads the 24-player Chinese contingent, with 15 players advancing to the main draw and 5 entering the delayed qualifiers. International stars Judd Trump, Mark Selby, and Ronnie O’Sullivan will also compete.

Beyond skill, the championship represents a cultural exchange, providing a platform for global snooker elites to compete, share experiences, and promote the sport in China, while blending the charm of ancient Nanjing with international sporting flair.
