Nanjing recently hosted the AI Talent Summit 2026 and ModelScope Developer Conference, bringing together global developers, research institutions, and enterprises to explore open-source AI collaboration and industrial application.

ModelScope, launched by Alibaba’s DAMO Academy, is China’s first and largest open-source model community. During the conference, Nanjing released a series of AI policy measures and announced deepened strategic cooperation with Alibaba and other leading tech companies. The AI Open Source Development Committee was formally established, and the Embodied Intelligence EAI-100 white paper along with a list of 100 annual achievements were unveiled.

A roundtable on AI open-source innovation brought together leading fellows, industry experts, and company representatives. The AI Hackathon Tour 2026 university finals were also held in Nanjing, drawing thousands of young developers.

Jiangsu Province has set a target of over 70% AI application penetration by 2027 and an industry scale exceeding 1 trillion yuan by 2030. Nanjing is positioning itself as the province’s leading hub for AI innovation and talent development.
