Foreign Firm Boosts Investment in Gaochun, Nanjing! Nanjing Jingheng Composites Launches RMB 110 Million Capacity Expansion Project

Nanjing Jingheng Composite Materials Co., Ltd., a wholly foreign-owned subsidiary of Finnish listed group Exel Composites, has launched a RMB 110 million carbon fiber pultrusion profile expansion project in Yangjiang Town, Gaochun District, bolstering its high-end manufacturing footprint in Nanjing, its core Asia-Pacific production hub.

Upon full operation, the facility will double its scale, with production capacity set to rise by over 50%. Beyond conventional capacity expansion, the company is actively tapping into high-growth segments including industrial drones and intelligent robots. It is expected to generate over RMB 200 million in annual sales in 2026, a testament to Nanjing’s world-class business environment and enduring appeal to global investors.

Nanjing Jingheng Composites carbon fiber production workshop

As a core manufacturing arm of Exel Composites, Nanjing Jingheng Composite Materials specializes in the R&D and production of carbon fiber and glass fiber composite materials. Its products serve high-value sectors such as rail transit and advanced equipment, with over 80% of its output shipped directly to Europe and North America, cementing its strong export edge worldwide. The company achieved RMB 150 million in operating revenue in 2025. Its sales hit nearly RMB 100 million in H1 2026, marking a 30% year-on-year rise, with overseas orders already locked in through late August. Sustained robust global market demand has prompted the group to keep reinvesting and expanding its production capacity in Nanjing.

To accommodate rapidly growing overseas orders, the company has introduced four new state-of-the-art carbon fiber production lines and leased an additional 15,000 square meters of standardized factory space, lifting its total factory footprint to 30,000 square meters. Currently under trial operation, the new lines are scheduled for full commissioning in Q4 2026, laying a robust capacity foundation for the company’s RMB 200 million annual sales target.

Carbon fiber raw material rolls for industrial drones and robots

Leveraging its parent company’s world-leading core carbon fiber technologies, Jingheng is moving beyond traditional application boundaries. It has developed high-performance carbon tubing for smart equipment and industrial robotics. Mass shipments of these products to overseas markets will kick off in Q4 2026, creating a fresh growth driver for Nanjing’s foreign-funded advanced manufacturing sector. Supported by a 200-member professional team, including 10 full-time local in-house R&D engineers, the firm continues to localize and commercialize world-leading new material technologies.

The smooth, fast-track rollout of this expansion project benefits from Nanjing’s end-to-end customized services for foreign investors. To help the company tackle recruitment needs and streamline approval procedures for its factory auxiliary facilities and production equipment, Yangjiang Town of Gaochun District set up a dedicated one-stop service window, helping the enterprise fill staffing shortages and providing full-spectrum support throughout project construction and commissioning. In addition, Nanjing’s complete industrial ecosystem for new materials and efficient cross-border customs and logistics services significantly optimize the company’s operational efficiency, accelerate cross-border cargo circulation and reduce overall supply chain costs.

Group representatives expressed strong confidence in Nanjing’s market potential. The region’s robust local industrial supply chains, paired with a transparent, fair and investor-friendly business ecosystem, underpin their expansion plans. The group will scale up investment in R&D and production capacity, further entrenching its global production network with Nanjing serving as its strategic manufacturing and export hub.
