On December 27, 2025, Nanjing Lukou International Airport reported that its international import and export air cargo throughput officially exceeded 100,000 tons, marking a historic milestone and a 33 percent year-on-year increase.

The growth has been driven by a rapid expansion of international cargo routes. Frequencies on major European and U.S. corridors, including Amsterdam, Luxembourg, and Chicago, have been increased to more than three flights per week, while new cargo routes to Warsaw, Incheon, and Kuala Lumpur have been launched. The airport now operates eight stable international cargo routes, forming an air logistics network spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and key Belt and Road markets.

Customs efficiency has also played a critical role. Nanjing Lukou Airport Customs implemented a tailored “fast review, fast inspection, fast release” clearance model, providing 24/7 support for cross-border e-commerce cargo. Dedicated inspection facilities for fresh seafood and fruit imports further accelerated clearance times.
The milestone underscores Lukou Airport’s rising role as a regional air logistics hub, strengthening trade connectivity and supporting two-way economic openness.
