As Jiangsu’s sole national-level airport economic demonstration zone, Nanjing boasts unparalleled advantages in strategic location, global air connectivity and industrial infrastructure, positioning it as a core destination for airport-related investment in the Yangtze River Delta. Nanjing Lukou International Airport currently hosts 52 airlines and operates 12 international and regional all-cargo routes. Its cargo throughput surpassed 100,000 metric tons in 2025, hitting a record high. With the ongoing Phase Ⅲ expansion of Lukou Airport and the construction of the Ningxuan High-Speed Railway and Ningzhenyangma Intercity Railway, Nanjing is developing an integrated air-rail multimodal transport network. This enhanced connectivity will significantly reduce cross-border logistics costs and streamline supply chain cycles, providing a robust foundation for the high-end, cluster-based growth of aviation-related industries.

The three new routes connecting Nanjing with Busan, Tashkent and Bengaluru further expand air connectivity with Northeast, Central and South Asia. Nanjing aims to build a world-class airport industrial system, targeting an output value of more than CNY 110 billion for the demonstration zone by 2030, thereby delivering solid industrial support and sustainable growth potential for settled enterprises.
