On October 25, Jiangsu Ocean Shipping’s container vessel “Jiangyuan Yuanrui” departed from Nanjing Port Longtan Container Terminal, fully loaded and bound for Jakarta, Indonesia, marking the official launch of the Nanjing–Jakarta direct container trade route.

The new route provides a highly efficient channel for trade between the Yangtze River Delta and Southeast Asia. Operating biweekly, the direct voyage takes only 4–5 days, saving 3–4 days compared with previous transshipment via Shanghai, significantly reducing logistics costs for exporters.

With established direct routes to Malaysia, Thailand, and other Southeast Asian ports, Nanjing Port continues to strengthen its role as a regional logistics hub and key node in the Belt and Road Initiative.
