Founded in 1987, Huawei has established itself as a global leader in information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices. Among its eight core research institutes worldwide, the Huawei Nanjing Research Center, established in 1999, stands as the third-largest, following those in Beijing and Shanghai. Huawei’s presence in Nanjing is bolstered by the city’s abundant educational resources and diverse talent pool, enabling innovation and research. Currently, Huawei collaborates with 14 universities in Nanjing on joint research initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to academic partnerships and technological advancement.
In 2018, Huawei further deepened its ties with the city through a strategic cooperation agreement with Nanjing, marking the beginning of several key initiatives. The Huawei Kunpeng industry ecosystem was launched in Nanjing in 2019, setting the stage for future-oriented technological ecosystems. Following this, the Huawei (Nanjing) Fertile Soil Workshop project was initiated in 2020, aimed at driving digital transformation and innovation across key industries.
The Huawei (Nanjing) Fertile Soil Workshop is a flagship project designed to empower businesses with advanced digital solutions. With the ambitious goal of supporting at least 100 companies annually, the project aims to assist 500 companies over five years, significantly contributing to industrial development and economic growth in the region.
