On the morning of September 29, with the theme of “Opening for Global Integration, Innovating for the Future”, successfully held was 2020 Nanjing Urban Internationalization Development Seminar. It was hosted by the Nanjing Municipal People’s Government and jointly organized by the Promotion Office of Nanjing Urban Internationalization and the People’s Government of Gulou District. Mayor Han Liming attended the seminar and delivered a speech, and Vice Mayor Shen Jianrong presided over the seminar.Other guests present included municipal leaders as Lin Keqin, Deputy Director of Nanjing Municipal People’s Congress, Huang He, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference, experts and scholars in the fieldof urban development research, representatives of economic and trade institutions in Nanjing, executives of multinational companies, industry elites in related fields, representatives of overseas students, member units of the Promotion Office of Nanjing Urban Internationalization, as well as relevant officials of Jiangbei New Area and other district governments.
In order to further attract talents from home and abroad to Nanjing for innovation and start-up, and to provide services for foreigners, Mayor Han Liming unveiled Nanjing’s first “International Talent Service Center” in the Nanjing area of the Pilot Free Trade Zone. To the same end, Lin Keqin, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress, and Huang He, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Political Consultative Conference, awarded the first batch of certificates of appointment to 12 international friends as “Zijin Friendship Ambassador of City Internationalization”.
In the keynote speech section, Wang Yiming,Member of the Economic Committee of the 13th CPPCC National Committee and Former Deputy Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council,and Wang Yu, Global Partner of A.T. Kearney gave answers to how to build a new development pattern of “dual circulation”, how to implement the Yangtze River Delta integration strategy, how to promote the regionalization of global supply chains near shore, and how to find differentiated channels in a multi-levelglobal city network.
