“2023 China-UK Financial Dialogue” kicks off in Nanjing

The “Cooperation and Opportunities Brought by New Finance Further Opens Up 2023 China-UK Financial Dialogue” took place in Nanjing on July 11. John McLean, Chair of the China UK Business Development Centre and Chairman of the Institute of Directors (IoD) City of London, acknowledged Nanjing as an important regional center city in China. He expressed his admiration for Nanjing’s rich cultural heritage and thriving financial business, which he first experienced during his visit in 2017. McLean emphasized his eagerness to foster more business opportunities and cooperation between China, Nanjing, and the UK. He also expressed the desire for increased bilateral visits by delegations and the expansion of potential opportunities for future collaboration.

Nanjing’s Hexi Central Business District, located in the Jianye District, has attracted over 4,200 enterprises, including prominent names such as Shell, BMW Digital, Huawei, and Sinopec. Among these enterprises, more than 1,000 financial and quasi-financial institutions, including Huatai Securities, KB Financial Group, and Metrobank, have established a strong presence in the district.
