Global Innovation Index 2023: Nanjing rises to 11th place

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has published its 2023 Global Innovation Index Report. In this report, Nanjing secured the 11th position among the world’s ‘best technology clusters,’ marking a two-place improvement from the previous year. Nanjing’s ranking closely aligns with that of New York City, New York (10th), and Paris (12th).

To date, Nanjing has successfully integrated six batches, totaling over 19,500 science and technology-driven small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into its database. This year, Nanjing marked significant milestones with the release of the Network Endogenous Security Test Site NEST2.0 by the Zijinshan Laboratory for Network Communication and Security, the introduction of the first domestic 200G DPU chip for endogenous security, and the development of an intelligent networked vehicle endogenous security network system, T-BOX, among other notable achievements.

Notably, the high-voltage power electronic devices based on silicon carbide, produced by the National Innovation Center for Third Generation Semiconductor Technology (Nanjing), have achieved international recognition for their advanced quality.

Furthermore, Nanjing has solidified its commitment to innovation by signing strategic cooperation agreements with prestigious institutions such as Peking University, Nanjing University, and Southeast University. To further its environmental endeavors, Nanjing proudly inaugurated the Carbon Neutral Research Institute at Nanjing University.
