On July 13, the CPC Nanjing Municipal Committee and Nanjing Municipal People’s Government convened the Promotion Conference on the Comprehensive Trials for Further Opening Up of the Service Sector in the city. During the conference, the “Global Digital Service Provider Recruitment Program” was announced, inviting service providers to collaborate in exploring a systematic path for opening up and building a modern service industrial system. Nanjing aims to cultivate about 50 “Global Digital Service Providers” which refers to multinational digital service enterprises with high international business capabilities.

At the end of last year, the State Council approved Nanjing’s comprehensive pilot program of opening up in the service industry. This support allows Nanjing to pilot following high-standard international economic and trade rules. It includes opening up and easing restrictions on foreign investment for 10 categories of services, such as commerce, finance, law, culture, and professional services. Therefore, Nanjing has became the only city in Jiangsu that implements the two major national opening strategies of “Further Opening Up of the Service Sector” and “Free Trade Pilot Zone”.
